The Art of Photography

"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."

Photography is more than just seeing something, pointing at it with a lense, and pressing the button. Photography is an art. Yes, you'll hear that statement from a million different photographers. That's why it's true. The way a photographer will sit in front of a flower with a camera until it blooms so they can take the perfect shot. The way a photographer will climb down a treacherous mountain with camera supplies that weigh more than a ton just to get the perfect angle. That is art. That is perseverance. That is photography.

With That Moon Language

 Image from StarGate7

Admit something:
Everyone you see, you say to them,
"Love me."
Of course you do not do this out loud;
Otherwise,
Someone would call the cops.
Still though, think about this,
This great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one
Who lives with a full moon in each eye
That is always saying
With that sweet moon
Language
What every other eye in this world
Is dying to
Hear.

Happy Winter Solstice!

Last night our family celebrated the longest night of the year.We created spirals from candles, pine, and citrus fruit. We gathered in the dark quiet night. Only the trickle of our pond, almost frozen over, broke the silence. Candles lit, we shivered and appreciated the light fire brings to us. Thankful for the return of the sun, we whispered our intentions to one another. Winter is here again!
